PCB pays tribute to the Lahore Terror Attack victims

Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ijaz Butt has paid tribute to the memories of those who lost their lives on that horrific day, when around dozen gunmen attacked a bus carrying the Sri Lankan cricketers as it approached the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore before the scheduled third day of the second test against Pakistan.

At least six policemen escorting the team bus were killed, along with a driver. Seven cricketers and an assistant coach were injured. "We pause to remember the victims, to grieve with the families and friends of those who died, and to honor the heroes of that day who sacrificed their lives to save others,” Butt said.

“Even though a year has passed, it has not erased the shock, horror and pain that we all felt on that day. We all remember where we were when we heard the news, and the disbelief that we felt at first, and then the sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of the victims,” Butt added.

PCB has arranged a memorial ceremony, which will be held at the site of the attack where a wreath will be laid by PCB in honor of the victims and prayers will be offered for the dearly departed. “PCB will stand shoulder to shoulder with the families of victims to help them recover from the devastating loss that they have suffered,” Butt further added.
