KARACHI: Pakistan’s top cricketers, former and current, have received life threats from unknown people.
Sources told The Sports Encounter Friday that some people telephoned the current Twenty20 skipper, Shahid Khan Afridi; former wicket keeper-batsman, Moin Khan; the legendary Javed Miandad; and his nephew Faisal Iqbal and told them their affiliation with a political party.

Sources said that the unknown persons invited these players to an event of collective marriage ceremony of several girls and asked them to submit some ‘forced’ donation. When players resisted the call, those unknown persons threatened them for the dire consequences, they added.

Source further told TSE that Javed Miandad and Moin Khan have contacted Sindh Minister for Information Technology, Raza Haroon and told him their plight.

Raza Haroon has ordered the CPLC and CCPO Karachi to investigate into the matter and bring the culprits to the book, sources revealed.
