KARACHI, Feb. 15 (APP): Governor Balochistan and Sports Minister have announced cash incentives for pugilists Niamatullah and Muhammad Waseem for winning gold and silver medals respectively in the 11th South Asian Games in Dhaka.
According to Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) news release issued here on Monday, the boxers called on Governor of Balochistan Zulfiqar Ali Magsi and provincial Sports Minister Mir Shahnawaz Marri recently in Quetta.
Governor announced cash awards Rs.100,000 for Niamatullah while the Sports Minister announced Rs.200,000 both for Niamat and Waseem. Niamatullah was also promised a job in the Balochistan Government,PR said.
In the meantime Senior Vice President PBF, Waqar Maroof, who is also the President of NWFP Boxing Association,has announced 50,000 rupees for SAG gold medalist Niamatullah.
“We are very grateful to Balochistan Government and the people for honoring the medal winners,such kinds of incentives and encouragement helps boxers to uphold the national dignity and take excel for the country in international arena”. PBF Doda Khan Bhutto said.
