After players, Pakistani umpires to get the boot ?

By BIPIN DANI

Mumbai, Feb. 4 : After the "supposed" snub to the Pakistani players, it is time for the umpires from Pakistan to bear the brunt. No Pakistani umpires have been approached so far to officiate in the third edition of the cash-riched Indian Premier League (IPL), it has been learnt.
Speaking to this scribe over his phone from Lahore, a gentleman from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said, "no invitation has been extended to any of the Pakistani umpires to officiate in the forthcoming IPL, the ICC best umpire winner Aleem Dar included".
However, it could not be confirmed whether any match-referee from Pakistan is being considered to feature in IPL-III.
For the record, Pakistan's Aleem Dar and Asad Rauf figure in the Elite Panel list of the ICC umpires, whereas Nadeem Ghauri, Zamir Haider and Ahsan Raza are a part of the international panel of umpires.
Meanwhile, it has also been learnt that the two Elite Panel Pakistani umpires, Aleem Dar and Asad Rauf, will feature as on field umpires during one the two Tests between Australia and New Zealand commencing on March 19 in New Zealand. Interestingly, this will be the first instance when two Pakistanis will officiate on- field in a Test match, though this has happened before in a One Day International.
