Umar Amin lead to Pakistan Under 21 in SAG

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 14-man under 21 team for the 11th South Asian Games (SAG) scheduled in Bangladesh in February 2010 featuring Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka for a Twenty20 competition.

Amin, a promising left-hand top order batsman groomed from under-19 campaign, named Pakistan under-21 captain for the year's eight-nation Twenty20 competition to be staged from January 29 to February 9. He was the after an impressive run in the domestic circuit in the 2008/09 season earned him a place in Pakistan's 15-man squad for the first ODI against Sri Lanka in January 2009.

Apart from Tanvir Ahmed – the leading wickets taker of 2009/10 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, both second and third wickets taker Mohammad Rameez from Rawalpindi and Abbottabad's Junaid Khan have been picked up on their inspiring season, picking up 70 wickets each in 10 matches.

Pakistan under-21 squad:Umar Amin (captain), Ali Asad, Taimoor Ali, Rameez Alam, Ali Waqas, Adil Amin, Shoaib Khaliq, Gulraiz Sadaf (vice-captain, wicket-keeper), Kamran Hussain, Muhammad Rameez, Hassan Dar, Junaid Khan, Ahsan Jamil, Nayyar Abbas.
