KARACHI, Aug. 6 (APP): The World Cup T20 winning Pakistan team will be honored at reception on August 14 at National Stadium, the organizers announced at a news conference on Thursday. “We would like to celebrate the 62nd Independence Day with Pakistan Cricket team which won the T20 Cup at Lords, London in June,” Naib Nazim Nasrin Jalil, Sindh Minister for Local Government Aga Siraj Durani, General Secretary Hamara Karachi Foundation Anwar Rammal and Organizers Javed Ahmed told reporters at Karachi Press Club.
A T20 match between Pakistan team and combined Governor’s and Chief Minister’s XI will be played on the occasion to entertain the public.
The entry for the match will be through nominal tickets and basic objective of holding the event was to highlight national spirit and solidarity among peoples.
The event will be conducted with joint collaboration of Pakistan Cricket Board, Hamara karachi Foundation, Provincial and City District Government Karachi.
They said a tumultuous welcome will be accorded to the national team before the match.
A musical evening and grand firework will be the part of the ceremony.
