Karachi : Javed Miandad has returned as Pakistan Cricket Board's director-general just weeks after quitting from the post after falling out with the Board's top brass, PCB spokesman confirmed Cricdb.
Miandad, 51, has also appointed special advisor to the PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt and meantime Chairman's Special assistant Asif Sohail has been transferred to Karachi for special assignment.
"Now everything is settled and I am happy to be back in the cricket board," Miandad said. Reports had been claiming that Miandad was not happy with his salary package when he stepped down two months ago. However, he said that money was not the issue. "Salary was never the issue and I just want to work for the betterment of Pakistan cricket," Miandad said.
Former Pakistan captain, Miandad resigned as director general of PCB with an immediate effect following conflicts with the cricket board and claiming that he was forced to quit after the Board refused to give him enough authority. He stepped down just a day after the PCB removed Shoaib Malik to appoint Younis Khan as captain of the Pakistan team following a humiliating defeat to Sri Lanka that sparked huge criticism.
In last few weeks, there were several efforts has been made to patch up the conflict between Miandad and Board, as sports minister Aftab Shah Jilani as well as the Senate's standing committee on sports tried to pave the path for Miandad's return in the Board.
