Karachi : Pakistan Prime Minister And Pakistan Hockey Chief Petroun Yousuf Raza Gilani approvedIs Former Olympian Qasim Zia has been appointed the new president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) in place of Mir Zafarullah Jamali.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani approved the resignation from Mir Zafarullah Jamali and gave approval to the appointment of Qasim Zia as the new president of the PHF.

The ministry of sports has released the formal notification of the appointment of Qasim Zia as the new president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation.

Qasim Zia was a member of the victorious Pakistan team of the Olympics 1984.

He rendered services as the opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly during the previous regime while he is now the MPA, after being elected in the bye-elections this year on the ticket of the Pakistan People’s Party.
