Karachi: The game of Boxing is departing down on day by day with the passages of time; none of the one boxer has capable yet for the 2012 mega event, we already missed the prospect through World Championship where Quarter finalists guaranteed their seats for London Olympic.
Some controversies already spoiled our training before world championship it was staged September this year in Baku, Azerbaijan, Muhammad Wasim, who is one of the most excellent boxer in Pakistan he takes bronze medal at Delhi commonwealth games most recent year, Gold medal in Combat games and has many other international medals, he wasn’t mentally organize for the Baku mega event, because Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) wasn’t allowed him to take part in his famous weight category which is 52kg.
Some news were appeared in the Media section about this controversy, according to media reports depressed boxer Wasim was refused to taking part in the World Championship in the 49kg weight category and he threaten to pulled out from the mega event, on that side International boxing Association (AIBA) was disqualified to Haroon Khan to represent Pakistan in the World boxing Championship because who have represented England at the Junior level.
Haroon Khan already represented Pakistan in Delhi Commonwealth games 2010 and took bronze medal wearing green shirt, but right now AIBA wasn’t allow him to represent Pakistan in WBC in Baku, when PBF officials finally missed the Haroon Khan then they were allowed to M. Wasim he can take part in 52kg but that time he was lost their consternation.
Due to internal politics PBF officials failed to safe and sound the Haroon Khan Case, AIBA how can ineligible him who already took a medal for Pakistan?, after loosing the Haroon Khan Pakistan squad hang about only on three boxers, here a big question is stay behind, Pakistan was sent six boxer last year for commonwealth games but what they have preparation for such type mega event like the world championship and Olympics, can Pakistan do impressive with only three boxers which is rocky one?
Before the last commonwealth games vice president of Pakistan Boxing Federation Mr. Iqbal Hussain were arranged many exercises for uplifting their boxers confidence we have some example here,
1, some amount were announced for the winner boxers in three categories for Gold, Silver and bronze
2, A Psychologist doctor was hired who delivered some lectures in the National camp
3, Good food and residence in the camp for National boxers
4, Iqbal Hussain were met with boxers properly and solved their individual problems
5, Vice president and the camp commandant Mr. Hussain were visited in National camp and has seen boxer’s performances
After some politics and internal affairs Mr. Hussain is inactive in the boxing and now at the present time PBF has forgotten all that type activities, they don’t have time for meeting their boxers and they don’t well aware about boxer’s activities in the camp or off the field, PBF has forgot own announced incentive plan which is Rs. 100, 000, 00 for gold medalist boxers in any international event R.s 50, 000, 00 for Silver and Rs. 25, 000, 00 for Bronze medalist boxer, but fighters they have got medals in President Cup Thailand, Combat games China, Commonwealth games India and South Asian games in Dhaka still awaiting for their reward.
