We were not prepared enough for C'wealth C'ship:Pak

New Delhi, Mar 11 (PTI) The Pakistan Boxing Federation today said it backed out of the Commonwealth Boxing Championship here as its pugilists were not prepared for the event, starting tomorrow.

PBF vice-President Iqbal Hussain brushed aside speculation that the team didn't get the government clearance to participate in the event.

"We couldn't come because our boxers were not prepared enough but it was a mistake and we should have participated because it would have given us good exposure. We feel it was a wrong deciion an we should have been there," Hussain told PTI.

"There was no security issue and neither were we stopped by our government. It was a decision taken solely by us. We are grateful to the Indian team for coming here when we invited them in January," he added.

Hussain said the PBF is now looking forward to having joint training camp with India.
