Pakistan, India to play hockey series every year

Hockey India (HI) and Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) have decided to conduct an annual bilateral test series for both men and women.
This series will be played by the senior as well as junior national squads on home and away basis.

Preliminary discussions were held between Narinder Batra, Secretary General HI and Asif Bajwa, Secretary General PHF to this effect.
In addition to the test series, the two federations also decided to exchange players for their domestic hockey leagues and commence and eight-team double leg sub-continental league to be played in both countries. Four teams each from India and Pakistan shall participate to start off.
It was also decided to have an umpire and technical officials exchange programme.

Both the federations have expressed the resolve to promote the sport in Asia, especially in the Sub-Continent.

The Memorandum of Understanding will be signed shortly at Lahore.
