Mumbai:Shoaib Akhtar, the most controversial Pakistani pace-bowler is believed to have received his dues from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Nobody in the PCB was willing to come on record. "I don't have the details of his dues. The matter is being handled by the finance department", Wasim Bari, the Chief Operating Officer said from Lahore.
However, according to the sources, the discarded right-arm fast bowler was paid a sum of Rs. 44,971 for the matches in 2009. Interestingly, the PCB has deducted the sum of seven million rupees, which was imposed upon him for criticising the selectors.
Shoaib, 35, set a world record by achieving a 161.3 kilometres (100.2 mph) bowling speed, twice at a cricket game. His ability to bowl fast yorkers and sharp bouncers have made him lethal, even on dead pitches.
He has final a desire to lead the side before hanging his boots. His fate can only be decided by the new set of selectors. "We shall soon announce the new chairman of selectors", Bari added.
Following team's poor performance in all formats of the game on recent tour of Australia, Iqbal Qasim, the selector chief resigned. There are many names doing round for the post.
