Karachi: International Cricket Council will keep a close watch on security arrangements in hockey World Cup and Commonwealth Games in India and a smooth conduct of the two mega events would allay safety concerns of players in the 2011 cricket World Cup, sources said.
Well informed sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board said although the ICC had as yet no intention of shifting the 2011 World Cup from India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, it was monitoring the security developments in India.
"Having the cricket World Cup in South Asia on schedule will hinge a lot on how smoothly the hockey World Cup and Commonwealth Games in India are held," a source said.
"There are certain concerns among some member nations about 2011 World Cup but so far it is on schedule
