Pakistan Disable Cricket Association impresses ICC

Karachi : International Cricket Council (ICC) has now turned its focus towards the development of Pakistan disabled cricket as the ICC showed interest in the country's disable cricket

and appointed ECB's National Disability Cricket Manager Ian Martin to
make a report on the disable cricket in Pakistan, this is revealed by the Pakistan Disable Cricket Association (PDCA) secretary Ameeruddin Ansari.
“Ian Martin had contacted us and
requested us to provide the details regarding the Disable Cricket

Association and even we have learnt that ICC had also contacted PCB
regarding our activities,” Ansari told Local Pakistan’s TV Channel ,,APNA NEWS,,

“ICC had sent us a proforma as well – in which they asked our
activities, selection criteria, domestic and national level events,
about the teams and about the funding,” added Ansari.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) already
gave the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the PDCA – which is
running under the affliction of the cricket board. Recenlty, PCB gave

a permission to PDCA for use international venue National Stadium of
Karachi for 2nd National Disable Cricket Championship – started on
the occasion of the World Disabled Day.

“This year 12 teams has been drawn
and each team is given the same facilities like PCB gives during the
Quaid-e-Azam Trophy[Pakistan Premier first-class tournament],”
Ansari further added. “During the ongoing disable championship, we
have appointed all PCB's qualified umpires and officials”

Islamabad/Rawalpindi is defending their title with Sialkot, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Multan, Hyderabad, Sargodha, Peshawar and Azad Kashmir are the other participating team.
