SJAS discuses AIPS issue with members

KARACHI: The Managing Committee of Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS) which met here on Thursday at Karachi Gymkhana discussed the membership issue of AIPS and allowed SJAS members, if they were willing, to join the world body.
The meeting chaired by President SJAS Sardar Khan, was attended by Zubair Nazir, Vice President, Rashid Siddiqui, General Secretary, Shoaib Ahmed, Joint Secretary, Ubaid Awan, Treasurer and members Managing Committee Mehmood Riaz, Tariq Aslam, Syed Javed Iqbal and members SJAS Mirza Iftikhar Baig, Syed Qalb-e-Muhammad and Ibadullah Khan.
There were there points on the agenda of this emergent meeting and all the decisions were taken unanimously:
1. The AIPS membership issue was discussed in details and President and Secretary took house in confidence over their discussion with Mr Zahid Farooq Malik and Mr Amjad Aziz Malik, President and Secretary, Pakistan Sports Writers Federation (PSWF) and AIPS members. The house allowed the members SJAS to take self decision for having the membership of AIPS. The members were informed that those who intend to join AIPS would have to deposit US $ 42 to AIPS for annual membership fee.
2. The members unanimously rejected the resignation, tendered by Ubaid Awan, who is jobless for three months. He has been asked to continue to work on his position.
3. The members discussed the possibility of holding ?Media Talks? programs with Shahid Afridi and Asif Bajwa and approved the programs.
4. The meeting was informed that majority of members did not deposit their membership contribution. Mr Ubaid Awan, Treasurer, has been advised to approach all the defaulters in this regard.
5. The members prayed for the rapid recovery of mother of Mr Mirza Iqbal Baig. They also offered fateha for the departed souls of mother of Qalb-e-Muhammad and Aunty of Rashid Siddiqui.
