Visit of Hockey and Squash to India - Call off.
Karachi : Government of Pakistan has decided to call off Pakistan Hockey team's participation in 4-Nation Hockey Tourament scheduled from 1-9 February, 2009 at Chandigarh ( India ) due to security concerns. It is felt that in the wake of existing political situation, the visit of Pakistan 's Hockey team to India is not advisable.
It is also felt that Pakistan Hockey team under tense environment will not be able to perform to its maximum potential. Sports ties will be restored as soon as the conditions are normalized.
For the same reasons, Pakistan has also decided not to participate in the Asian Junior Squash Championships being held from 16-28 January 2009 at Chennei , India
