Pakistan to host 2010 Volleyball WC Qualifying round

Karachi : Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) allocated Pakistan to hold the 1st round of 2010 World Championship Qualification Tournament from January 1st next year.
According to Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) Secretary Major (R) Muhammad Afzal, four teams including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives and Macao will compete three day event scheduled be held at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad from January 1-3.
He said that championship will be played on single league basis and two teams will qualify for the next round of the 2010 World Championship Qualification Tournament.
Meanwhile training camp also kicks off from Friday at Liaquat Gymnasium Islamabad where 22 spikers are taking part in two sessions under the supervision of Iranian head coach Ali Reza Moameri, Muhammad Akram and Jamil Ahmed (Assistant Coaches).
The invited spikers are:
Libro: Shah Rukh (Wapda), Hassan Abbas (Army), Waleed Khan (Wapda).
Setter: Pir Bakhsh Yasin (Army), Asif Nadeem (Navy), Zahid Bashir (Army)Abdullah Khan (NWFP).
Quick Attacker/Middle Blocker: Mohib Rasool (Police), Aimal Khan (NWFP), Shah Faisal (Army), Babar Bhutta (Wapda), Shujja Abbas (Navy), Imdad Hussain (Army), Hafiz Munir Khan (Punjab).
High Spiker: Naseer Ahmed (Police), Zaheer Khan (Wapda), Zaheer Abbas (Army), Ali Abbas (Wapda), Farooq Khan (Wapda), Nasir Khan (NWFP), Muhammad Ismail Khan (PAF) and Muhammad Naveed (Army).
