Salim Altaf likely to be made PCB's COO

Former Pakistani pace bowler Salim Altaf is most likely to get a key position in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), it is learnt here.


According to Lahore-based sources close to the PCB, he is likely to take over from Shafqat Naghmi as Chief Operating Officer and the announcement with other positions are likely to be made on Monday evening.


The former PCB chief had sacked him following accusations of leaking a confidential e-mail to the media which criticised the team a few months ago.


Altaf was officiating as a chairman of the 2011 World Cup Organising Committee.


Altaf has served the team as a manager in the past and was also involved with the affairs in Abu Dhabi cricket.


Nadeem Akram, the other PCB official has also handed over his charge (Director : Human Resources) to Ahsan Hameed till new appointment is made.
