Hasan Sardar appointed chief of hockey selection committee

Karachi : The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has appointed former Olympian Hasan Sardar as the new chief of the national selection committee and Qamar Ibrahim as chief coach of the national junior selection committee.
President PHF Qasim Zia told a news conference here at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday that the salaried national selection committee has been formed for a period up to the Asian Games 2010 while the junior team management would work up to the Junior World Cup 2009.
The national selection committee consists of its chairman Hasan Sardar and members Farhat Khan, Mohammad Shafiq, Rana Mujahid and Khalid Bashir.
Junior team management includes chief coach Qamar Ibrahim, coach Danish Kaleem and assistant coach Ahmed Alam.
Brig retired Manzoor Hussain Atif has been made advisor while former captain Islahuddin, Akhtar Rasool and Shahbaz Senior will work as technocrats on the advisory board.
Qasim Zia told that Shahbaz Senior and Manzoor Junior were not ready to accept any responsibility and they have informed about their unavailablility.
